Every child, called by name
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Banbury, we believe that every child is a unique creation made in the image and likeness of God, uniquely precious and uniquely gifted. We believe that every child is “called by name” with a special service or gift to bring to the world and that we are entrusted with the development, nurture and safeguarding of every aspect of all our children.
Our children are our greatest ambassadors and visitors always comment on their good manners, the warm welcome they offer and respectful behaviour. The staff at St Joseph’s is a close knit team and we aim to develop a strong sense of St Joseph’s as a family-centred, faith-filled community. We enjoy close links with our Parish Church of St Joseph the Worker and we are proud to be a part of such a rich, diverse community.
On 1st August 2014, St Joseph’s became a partner in a Multi-Academy Company with Blessed George Napier Secondary School and Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School in Chipping Norton. This is an exciting development in a long-standing professional partnership which has existed for many years between the Catholic schools in the north of the county. The wider Catholic Partnership includes St John’s in Banbury, St Mary’s in Bicester and St Mary’s in Aston-Le-Walls.
It is our desire to develop in our pupils a sense of their place in our school community, in the Church, in the communities within which they live and as citizens of the United Kingdom. We aim to develop a commitment in the children to contribute to their communities in a way that benefits all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender or culture. We understand our role in developing a respect for the democratic processes and rule of law in our society and we have a strong commitment to encouraging our pupils to view themselves as citizens of the world.
